[dropcap]A[/dropcap]lphonse opened with much fanfare in U Street just two years ago. The design was amazing and the concept sound.
Sadly without so much of a whisper, Alphonse closed on Monday.
No reason was giving for shuttering. The owners of Biergarten Haus and Russia House did not provide an explanation.
A note on their door thanked patrons for their support and said they will miss supporting U Street. Alphonse – we will miss you, too.
