This Saturday, Southeast’s new Entertainment and Sports Arena opens with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
Located in St Elizabeth’s, the former site for a psychiatric hospital, the arena is the beginning of major redevelopment of the 180-acre campus.
At 114,000 square feet, the arena will serve as a training facility for the Wizards and the home court for the WNBA Eastern Conference Champions, the Mystics.
The center is expected to generate tens of millions of dollars in tax revenue for DC.
