JBG and Summers has been going back and forth for some time now. The restaurant that opened in 1982 closed at the end of the year. Rumors of massive development was in the works. Located at the corner of Clarendon Boulevard and North Courthouse Road, the bar became ultra popular with soccer fans and was once voted as the best soccer bar in the US.
Who knows how long this will last. According to Arlington County, there are plans to build a 26 story, 300 foot building in that area. No word on when that may be.
And since JBG Co could not find a short term tenant to occupy the space, they decided it was best to bring back Summers, even if it means giving them a break on the rent.
