[dropcap]S[/dropcap]t Elizabeths East a National Historic has been chosen as the future home of the Washington Wizards. The Wizards will practice at a modern training facility to be built there. In addition this will be the home arena for the Washington Mystics and will have up to 5,000 seats.
The St Elizabeths’ landmark and is specially zoned as the StE District. The campus is adjacent to Congress Heights Metro Station (Green Line) and located along major transportation corridors – Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, Alabama Avenue, and access from I-295 and Suitland Parkway.
Just like with the Verizon Center at Gallery Place, the new Wizards practice facility could serve as an anchor for future development such as the Microsoft Innovation Center.
