Widespread Salmonella Linked to Fig & Olive

There is a nationwide salmonella outbreak linked to imported cucumbers, and there over 70 cases of salmonella poisoining in DC linked to the newly-opened Fig & Olive.  According to the Washington Post, six people have been hospitalized after eating or drinking at the new City Centre establishment – five in DC and one in Alexandria.  And a total of 70 people who reported eating or drinking at Fig & Olive may have tested positive for salmonella.

The symptoms of a Salmonella infection include nausea, severe abdominal cramps, diarrhea that may be bloody, vomiting, headache, fever, muscle aches, and chills.
