Communicators Happy Hour

Alba Osteria is a greDSC_0030at find —  located in Mount Vernon Triangle, not too far from the Gallery Place/China town metro at: 425 I St, NW.  I went there for a RUNINOut happy hour and LOVED the decor, and food! Great ambiance!
We had a fabulous time and were so impressed by Chef Amy’s delicious dishes and presentation.

First I enjoyed prosciutto wrapped apples. So yummy! Then for the first time in my life I tried escargot! And to make it less intimidating it was cut up and looked a lot like little mushroom chunks. It was served in a parmesan risotto. Wonderful! There was also a polenta with octopus that looked great but went fast so I didn’t get a chance to try it. Darn! The pizzas looked fantastic too! I’m embarrassed as an Italian to say I have never tried polenta!

I’ll be back to Alba Osteria because the website for the restaurant says that on Thursdays at 7:30: “Guests can anticipate an ever-changing six-course tasting menu. Inspired by rustic Italian cuisine and Italian street food, served with cocktail, wine and beer pairings. This new menu experience is the work of Chef Amy Brandwein who has invested a generous amount of time and energy crafting the recipes for the cocktails to marry with her menu.” I definitely will give that a try too!
