Clarendon doesn’t have many choices for authentic Asian. Last year, we wrote off Rien Tong after several not too stellar episodes with bland food and rude service.
So when Four Sisters moved into Clarendon, we had to roll up our sleeves and flex our tastebuds.
Four Sisters is a long running family owned business that originated at the Eden Center and Merrifield Town Center. They are known for good food, big portionsand reasonable prices. Chef/co-owner Hoa Lai condensed his menu of over 100 items to just over 20.
But Merrifield can be quite a commute with traffic so the Clarendon location is a wonderful treat for a Washingtonian. The dining area is spacious, modern with plenty of outdoor seating.
We started out with the crispy pork spring rolls and fresh garden rolls a great appetizer for a hot summer day. The fish sauce was well seasoned and perfect for dipping.
Next came long time customer favorites, the grilled Lemongrass beef served piping hot, full of flavors, emitting a fresh citrus taste.
The beef was very tender and indeed I was blown away by the mixture of flavors and aroma. The grilled Lemongrass Chicken was juicy and succulent and exactly what we needed to jump start a busy weekend.
We were blown away to say the least. After two failed attempts from Rabbit and Fat Shorty’s, Four Sisters finally gets it right.
