Silver Diner Cook Rams SUV into Tysons Corner Restaurant

[dropcap]A[/dropcap]t 12:40pm today, a cook at a Tyson’s Corner restaurant drove his hummer through the front door of the Silver Diner at 8101 Fletcher Street.  The driver then backed up and crashed into the entrance a second time, trapping a man inside.  The third time, the SUV burst into flames.

Four people were injured including the driver, who had worked at the Silver Diner for two years.

Silver Diner issued this statement on the incident:

We understand that a Silver Diner employee drove through the front of Silver Diner Tysons restaurant this afternoon. We are shocked and saddened by the incident. We had no indication that the employee would harm himself or others. Four people were injured- one treated on site, three transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Our hearts go out to the families and friends of those injured. The company is providing counsellors for employees and customers.
