One thing about Georgetown, history never fades away — it just changes its name. When we heard this summer that old Georgetown favorite piano bar was closing, many of us shed a tear — but not for long.
Fortuitous as it may be — another old Georgetown favorite Chadwick’s closed this month. The long-time waterfront staple known for its daily happy hour deals and bottomless champagne brunch opened in 1967. The spot will live in infamy because that is where Aldrich Ames betrayed his country 30 years ago.
So for the sake of history, we’re sure glad that both the famous spot and Mr Smith’s legendary Piano Bar lives on.
