[dropcap]H[/dropcap]ow can we forget the old One Lounge — many of us cradle fond memories of late nights drinking wine and cocktails. Come visit Reed Landry and Fritz Brogan’s Mission Dupont and sink your teeth on some mouth watering Enchiladas, and those fond memories will quickly fade away.
Upon entering the premises you are greeted with an amazing interior and brightly-lit bar with an atrium-style skylight. Tequila is the staple and margaritas are featured prominently. To satisfy the wide range of tastes, their choices for tequila is broad and diverse. The margaritas were spot on — not too sweet and had the perfect amount of tequila. The tap consists of the typical Pacifico, Dos Equis and Corona a well as a couple domestics.
Overall, the entire space is lively, immaculate and clean. Thankfully, the memories of the grime and dingy One Lounge has completely been washed away. To craft the classic Mexican menu, Landry and Bogan brought in renowned chef Rodrigo Albarran from R&R Taqueria in Elkridge.
There’s a dearth of good, wholesome Mexican food in Dupont. Albarran doesn’t disappoint and the food is hands down one of the best Mexican arguably in the entire city. We held our event upstairs — perfectly sized for a small group or happy hour. The guacamole was tasty, fresh!
The chorizo burger with waffle fries were spicy, crunchy and simply phenomenal. One bite of this and it’ll knock your socks off!!
The soft chicken tacos, enchiladas and rice were ample, tasty and divine. Our three lovely hostess seemed to thoroughly enjoy it.
Landry, Brogan and Albarran have all bases covered with Mission. There’s even a phone booth with a phone charging station, and hey there’s an electrical outlet next to each bar stool.
