Carriage House has had quite a storied existence ever since it’s opened its doors a year and a half ago. It has gone through a whole slew of chefs and managers. The former Tom Tom with a massive upstairs dance floor, balcony and patio has been the venue for a ton of dinner socials, game watching and karaoke events. What set it apart from the rest of the Adams Morgan nightlife was its American cuisine. But when Roofers opened up the hill, serving Majorie Meek Bradley’s decadent homemade sausages and crispy pig ears, Carriage House took a hit and just never recovered. Now the strip on 18th Street will be Johnny Pistolas is a Mexican Taqueria Bar serving up LA Style Tacos and Signature Craft Cocktails. DC has not shortage of Mexican themed taco bars. El Centro Georgetown opened last year and this spring Mission with renowned chef Rodrigo Albarran opened in Dupont Circle. Now DC will have one more place to enjoy late night tacos and tequila.
