Festival Goers to take over H Street, Sat

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]his Saturday, Sept 17, H Street will transform once again into a celebration of food, culture and fun.

For it’s eleventh year, a festival that seems to grow and expand every year, this year promises to be no different.

For 7+ hours from noon to dusk, hundreds of vendors and thousands of festival-goers (last year attracted over 200,000) will flood the streets from 4th to 14th NE.

Just about every culinary offering from all around the world will be offered, including a Pig Roast.

Likewise, every type of music from Go-Go, to rap, to R&B to Rock, to Pop to Soul.

And yes, there’ll be plenty of booze – the old AutoZone parking lot will be transferred into a Modelo Zone beer garden.

Besides what’s offered on the streets, be sure to visit the local bars and restaurants who will be putting out specials all day and night.

What’s different about the H Street Festival as opposed to other street festivals on the National Mall is its strong connection to the local community.

And for the avid-Pokemon Go chasers, there will be lounges at two PokeStops putting our lures all day.

And as expected, the Queen Vic will have its double decker bus on scene as its remote bar.

One new restaurant opening that coincides with the street fest is Ten01 on 10th & H will now turn into Ben’s Upstairs

And the weather is expected to mild and nice. So all Saturday, there’ll be lots of Food, Fun and of course Fashion — according to the event organizers, this year’s Fashion stage will be the biggest yet with the first-ever hair show on 12th Street.
