Fall in Love 5K/10K @ Anacostia Park

Registration is Now Open!

We are proud to announce that the 3rd annual Fall in Love 5k/10k, presented by Federal City Runners, will take place on October 3rd 2015! As always, the race will benefit Special Love, a nonprofit foundation that provides children battling cancer a network of support, made up of other patients and families who know and understand the trials and triumphs of the cancer experience. 100% of the proceeds will go toward Special Love. This year, our race will take place in Anacostia Park and is metro-accessible (see details below). Our bibs will also use professional chip-timing for accurate times.

The New Course

Our 5k and 10k will start and finish at the soccer field adjacent to Good Hope Road in Anacostia Park. We will post the official map as soon as it’s available. The course will take runners along the Anacostia River toward the Skating Pavilion and back. 10k runners will complete two loops of the 5k course, but will receive a split time for their 5k distance as well. Even though the park will be closed to vehicles during the race, please use caution and abide by all park rules. The best address for GPS and directional purposes is 1800 Anacostia Drive SE, Washington, DC 20020. Getting There by Metro

We highly encourage you to take the metro to the race. The closest stop is the Anacostia Metro Station on the Green Line, which is less than a mile away from the start/finish line. Link to metro page: http://www.wmata.com/rail/station_detail.cfm?station_id=85 Although the race is very close to the metro, volunteers will direct all runners towards the starting line. Please check the Metro website for any service changes that may be in effect during the weekend of the race.

Parking Near Event

If you plan to drive to the race, the Anacostia Metro Parking Garage holds about 800 vehicles and is also very close to the starting line. There is NO parking in Anacostia Park itself – the National Park Service Police will close off the park to vehicles on the morning of the race.

We are also still looking for additional volunteers and sponsors, so please contribute if you can! Please email samdstout@gmail.com if you are interested!
