DC Losing Last Remaining Big Bookstore

If you’re looking for a fire sale for books and furniture, perhaps you should visit the city’s last big book store this year.

After December, Barnes and Nobles located on the corner of 12th and E NW will be shutting its doors.  The Georgetown location closed in 2011 and the Union Station location closed two years ago.

Still Washingtonians are known to be well-read – Amazon ranked DC as #5 in the most well read cities

There are still plenty of independent bookstores all around the city:

Upshur Books   827 Uphsur St NW

Kramerbooks & Afterwords Cafe  1517 Connecticut Ave NW

And for those who don’t mind venturing out of the District, there are still the Barnes and Nobles in Clarendon and Bethesda.
